Nearly '09 !

Wow - 2008 is done in 2 days.  It has been an eventful year for me.  I've had some interesting performance opportunities and I've loved each one - from the Old Town School to O'Hare Airport to "singing along" at the Bluegrass ROMP  in Louisville.  Things with my day job are good and I continue to love teaching, whether at the Old Town School or private instruction at home.
Vacation is important too and I have loved getting away to warmer climates and to cooler ones. South and North Carolinas in the spring, Vermont in the summer and Tybee Island GA after Christmas.  I find it so refreshing to get to the beach.
I've returned to academia this year and I absolutely love it.  Who knew a person could focus and think at 5am?!  That's one of the life changes going back to school has afforded me.
My lovely adult children are doing well and are happy - which adds endlessly to my  happiness.
The friends God puts in my path continue to teach and inspire and amuse me...
Here's to a blessed and peaceful and invigorating 2009 to all. Drop a line if you have a chance.
And, thanks for your part in my life.

Gospel Sing Thing!

Last night was the 2nd monthly sing along (of this "season").  Fourteen people came out to sing and enjoy very old songs; we had a terrific couple of hours.  Spontaneous harmonies and closed eyes - very good fun.  I always love this.  Next month we'll do some Christmas songs.

a blog thing...a thinking thing...a sharing thing

Some thoughts, some questions...something.
